• Welcome to my Blog!

Hello and welcome to my blog! My name is Bill and I am Quinn Photography along with my wife, Ruth and son, Tyler. I am a wedding photographer in Fair Oaks, California who specializes in capturing those emotional glimpses, relaxed moments, subtle details and the loving playful nuances between my awesome couples.

This blog follows both my personal and professional life, and features images from the weddings I shoot, the places I travel and the friends and family members that mean so much to me. It's basically like my own personal photo album combined with informational sources for my current and potential clients. This site is a little more informal and I just want to give everyone a sense of who I am, and what I am all about.
    Thanks for visiting.

UC Davis/Old Sacramento Engagement Session

Two of my favorite locations for shooting engagement sessions are UC Davis and Old Sacramento. I have so many alumni of UC Davis who are my clients. If they live in the area they always  seem to gravitate back to their alma mater for their engagement sessions. For Old Sacramento, I think most of my couples are astute enough to know the variety of textures and colors will add greatly add to the engagement session photos. For Jason and Erica it so happened she graduated from UC Davis and Jason liked the urban feel of old Sacramento. I had never in the same day used these venues together. So we all met up at UC Davis to see how we could “capture a day in the life” of shots of both Jason and Erica. The plan was to meet up at the Mondavi Center since it allows for the use of so many textures and colors as a back drop for most of my UC Davis shots. We get to the Mondavi and it is completely wrapped in white plastic. It literally looked like it was shrink wrapped by UPS ready for shipment to far off places. The workers told us the fascia of the building which is made of some kind of rock/marble was falling off in many of the places outside the building. It was time to inspect and replace the whole exterior of the Mondavi Center.

If you are a professional you always have a plan B. Jason and Erica were so easy to go in another direction, direction B. It was such a collaborative day as we all put our combined heads together to come up with the shots we did. This day did not feel like work at all. Everything fell into place and Jason and Erica were so accommodating. We had help from UC Davis construction workers we had help from the commuters of Highway 80 as they thinned out just for us as we went form one location to another, and we had the help of the sunset to give us a beautiful well lit canvas to work from. Oh and did I mention Erica and Jason were so easy to work with:)I  wish every shoot was so effortless and so rewarding with beautiful pictures. I think you will agree these two looked hot together and quite smitten with the love bug. Can’t wait till I get to shoot their wedding next May. BQ

Sonoma County Wedding

Kate and Mark are in love. I know you should be for your wedding day right? Well this love has no boundaries as poor Mark ate something the night before his wedding day which made him very sick the next day. He threw up five times before his ceremony-he was green and not feeling very well. We all kept this information except being green from Kate. She knew nothing except she loves Mark and he was green. If she was worried about the the proceedings going forward or a last minute change of plans she didn’t show it. She encouraged and loved Mark and gestured are you alright at the altar.  Of course Mark kept  going  and nodded he was fine.  Adrenaline must  have kicked in as Mark came up with enough energy and whites in his eyes to get through it all. Of course right after the ceremony he had to disappear to take some meds  and hydrate for a few minutes. Then as if nothing happened he was a new man-a married man with a task at hand. He must go and enjoy the celebration and boy did he ever. Kate did too. They did it together. You would never know how sick Mark was to look at the pictures of the wedding. I know Mark will be glad his ordeal was nothing in the context of looking at his wedding album someday.

Fair Oaks Prebyterian Church Wedding/Granite Bay Golf Course Reception

My kind of story-he meets her many years ago in his youth and she the same in the Bay Area. They go out and hit it off, they fall in love and are an item in their early twenties. They break up and go their separate ways. She toward Sacramento he to Oregon. They marry but not each other and have children, she one and he two. Uummm twenty years later or so they end up in Sacramento as single parents. Love has a way of placing two people together, call it kismet or Divine intervention. Keith and Sandy are married now, together. They were lucky to have their home church Fair Oaks Presbyterian be their ceremony venue.  They have a blended family and they are totally committed to each other. They love their new family. You will see that as you look at their wedding day. I love a man who can show emotions-have a good cry as they say. Keith had plenty of those emotions as he really glowed with pride and love for his new wife Sandy. I think I smiled this whole weeding glad to see how love can repair hearts, make people happy once again and create new whole families without skipping a step. Congratulations to Keith and Sandy and may you live to be an old married couple with a big happy family!!!

Apple Hill Engagement Shoot/Sacramento Photographer

Its Apple Hill time of the year!!!  The leaves on the trees are almost at their best color of the year, the grapes are being harvested and the apple trees are loaded to the gill. I might add the tourist are at an all time high as well. It must be fall in Apple Hill country time. With the colorful backdrops and good weather it’s a shame if a photographer lets an opportunity like that  pass him by without an engagement shoot with a beautiful looking couple.  Justin and Nicole fit the bill to a tee. Inside and out they are a beautiful couple. I got to spend some really quality time having conversation about their dreams and ambitions. The first and foremost of importance is the bond and love they have for each other. They make it a point to share that love whenever they can as they both have very time demanding  jobs. They took time out of their busy schedule to come up from the bay area to have some quality time and to share with each other the gift of an engagement shoot. I think you’ll agree their time together in Apple Hill was well worth it when you see them having a great time together.
