Folsom, Capitol Park and Old Sacramento Engagement Session

It was a whirlwind of a shoot. Keith and Denni held together while the hot 95 degree day served to make for a heated day of picture taking. Cool couple in the blazing heat . They were so up for this shoot as I was. We really did have some ideas of where to shoot but the temperatures kept us flexible . We ruled out some areas for the sheer distance from the car to the location walking in the heat. I made some suggestions and they were on it with the enthusiasm only Keith and Denni can have together. The were so up for a great day together it didn’t really matter to them where and it didn’t matter to me either. We started shooting right where we we met.

To serve as background, they met at the gym, so it was fitting we take the theme as the start of our shoot. We then moved on to the other venues to have them be themselves and to have a fun time while I became the fly on the wall. We ended the day in Old Sacramento as the sun set behind the bend of the earth. What a loving couple, what a cool guy Keith turned out to be for a photo shoot. Denni was so beautiful, the camera was in love all day. Thanks you two for spending the day with me. I really enjoyed your company and of course taking the pictures of a cute and gorgeous couple.

Mission District Engagement Shoot/San Francisco Engagement Shoot

What a wonderful day it was in San Francisco yesterday. The wind was barely whispering, the sun did more than just peek through the clouds, the temperature was quite comfortable. After all the recent rain, it was a treat to visit San Francisco for the day of shooting with Eddie and Rhonda. We traveled to the Bay Area together in one car. I was so delighted to find Eddie was a product of the Mission District of San Francisco, since that was going to be our start point for our engagement session. Eddie guided us through the Mission District with much aplomb and memories.

Our shoot started out with more of an edgy feel in the Mission and finished with an elegant flair at the Palace of Fine Art. In between Eddie and Rhonda changed clothes at least four times for all the in between places we had the privilege to try out. I’m pretty sure one location with these two love birds would have been enough as they were so expressive and overt with the deep feelings they have for one another. Eddie is a lovable big teddy bear and Rhonda is the nurturing loving soon to be wife. They are so right for one another and it will surely show in the following pictures. UC Davis Engagement Session

Ernie and Carolina are about as adventuresome a couple as I have shot before. They slogged through wet fields, climbed up tall trees, they lay prone on many a picture. All for the capturing their vision on the CD and engagement book. They were into the shoot and it was hard to not try some things I haven’t even thought of before this day. I was into the shoot as much as they were. UC Davis was the backdrop for this shoot. It became our canvas and boy was it fun to turn the Davis campus into one fun art project. Enjoy!!!

Bridal show marriage proposal

Have you ever wanted to be a fly on a wall? Ever witness a marriage proposal other than your own? I was honored to be asked to be a fly behind not quite a wall but an airplane hangar beam to photograph a wedding proposal. Michael is a gifted musician and his specialty is playing the guitar. His job is to play during weddings with his instrument. Well this past Sunday, he was working his booth marketing his guitar skills at a bridal show with hundreds of newly engaged ladies. The event was held in a huge airplane hangar. Its quite hard to hide a photographer in the middle so a hangar. so I did the next best thing and hid behind one of the main support beams with my camera in tow. Michael bought the new wedding ring days before the event. He had a vision of how his proposal was to go down. His now fiance, Bethany, planning on helping Michael work his booth. The plan was to surprise Bethany before the swarms of brides to be flooded the exhibit hall. I walked over toward the booth and passed it on my way out of the way. Michael held the gift box holding the diamond ring behind his back-now the pictures tell the rest of the story.
